TO THE GLORY OF GOD AND
TO THE MEMORY OF THOSE WHO
FELL IN THE GREAT WAR
This Memorial is on the North Wall of St Peter Mancroft, Norwich, with 24 names. Alas the metal cross has been stolen, but the Parish will be repairing the Memorial.
St Peter Mancroft is the largest and most prestigious ‘City’ Church in Norwich, so the relative modesty of the Memorial tucked away on the north side of the Church wall, is perhaps surprising.
Ref No 5.0 in my list of WW1 War Memorials, looking at what the dedications tell us about how ordinary people felt about the War that had just ended.
